Course needs include 12 hrs of studio workshops, six hrs within the scholarly study of literary form and theory, ENG 6325-Studies in Composition Techniques or ENG 6330 – Being a Creative Writing Professional, and nine hrs of literature electives. Six hrs of free electives is going to be selected in consultation using the student’s consultant. Within their final year within the program, students will make a creative thesis (ENG 7300 and ENG 7301) composed of the manuscript within their selected genre plus a critical introduction. Test of British as Language (TOEFL) – The absolute minimum score of 500 (173 for internet based test) is needed for those worldwide students from countries whose native language isn’t British. Test scores should be sent straight to the College of Texas-Pan American in the Testing Agency. Copies of TOEFL scores sent through the applicant aren’t acceptable. Additional College Admission Needs, needed supporting materials and application procedure are suggested for the approval.
