To get the most out of your speaking and writing skills you will need to practise a lot. In this blog post, I would like to share some tips and websites with you that have been proven successful by students and teachers. So you already know they work, now you just have to make them work for you too!
HOW TO IMPROVE ENGLISH SPEAKING
1. LEARN NEW WORDS
To speak English fluently you need to be able to learn and later remember the new English words. By clicking on these two articles you will be able to read the latest tips and websites that will help you to quickly learn the new words and to understand how can you become fluent in English.
To become fluent, you need to be able to speak without pausing to think of the correct words and sentence construction. That why you shouldn’t concentrate on grammar while speaking. Only study grammar if you are preparing for an examination!
3. USE PHRASES AND ‘CHUNKS’ OF WORDS
Learn phrases instead of just singular words. Then adapt them to any situation!
Phrases like get up, run out of will help you make your speech flow better.
4. MAKE CONVERSATION, PRACTISE WITH OTHERS
You can practise with a native English teacher here at MyEnglishTeacher.eu. You can practise with native English speakers using language exchange websites. You can also practise with other English language learners on the How do you do? website.
HOW TO IMPROVE ENGLISH WRITING SKILLS
1. USE FREE GRAMMAR CHECKERS
I use Grammarly Lite. which is a great tool in my opinion. It corrects you every time you make a mistake. By using it you will become more aware of making the same mistakes, and will eventually learn to stop and remember the correct way.
It works anywhere on the net, for example on Facebook, Twitter, websites and blogs. Or use other grammar checkers to instantly proofread your writing.
3. READ MORE
To Improve your English writing skills you should read more. Start reading blogs and magazines about things that interest you. You will begin to recognise sentence structures, understand how they are formed and eventually use them in your own writing.
