Gender Studies examines the social processes, cultural representations, relations of power, and types of understanding that generate a variety of gendered perspectives and experience worldwide. Our concentrate on gender being an analytic category facilitates a range of scholarly collaborations, generating cutting-edge research across fields as diverse because the social sciences, the humanities and humanities, natural sciences, and policy studies. Degree Needs

The needs with this doctorate degree are 90 credit hrs past the bachelors degree configured as a minimum of 48 credit hrs of graded course work as well as an additional 42 dissertation credit or coursework credit hrs (typically as 899 or 901).

Each doctorate candidate will complete three needed core courses involving theory, methodology, research skills, and professional development: G600 Concepts of Gender, G603 Feminist Theories, G702 Researching Gender Issues. Candidates may also develop a 12-credit-hour minor, which needs to be taken externally (e.g. in another department) or perhaps in an authorized program indexed by the Graduate Bulletin. Elective courses complete the needed hrs of gender-related course work.

Only individuals students planning to pursue the Ph.D. is going to be accepted towards the program. Language Requirement

Research Skills

Transfer Credits
