Biography

Debdeep Jena received the B. Tech. degree obtaining a significant in Electrical Engineering along with a minor in Physics inside the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur in 1998, along with the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering inside the College of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) in 2003. He increased to end up part of the school within the department of Electrical Engineering inside the College of Notre Dame in 2003. His research and teaching interests come in the MBE growth and device applying quantum semiconductor heterostructures (presently III-V nitride semiconductors), analysis of charge transport in nanostructured semiconducting materials for example graphene. nanowires and nanocrystals. additionally for their device applications, as well as the concept , heat, and spin transport in nanomaterials. He’s the writer on several journal publications, including articles in Science, Physical Review Letters, and Electron Device Letters amongst others. He’s received two best student paper awards in 2000 and 2002 for his Ph.D. dissertation research, the NSF CAREER award in 2007, along with the Joyce award for excellence in undergraduate teaching this year.

Debdeep Jena, professor of electrical engineering inside the College of Notre Dame, remains selected because the 2014 Youthful Investigator using the Worldwide Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) Advisory Committee.

He’s being famous for “using MBE to solve new electronic and photonic phenomena in polar semiconductor heterostructures, as well as for sustained leadership inside the kind of their device applications.”

He was recognized “for his contributions for that knowledge of transport in nitrides and two-dimensional crystals to get the best-performance transistors.”
