My creative writing portfolio requirements of the Short

Upper Level Creative Writing Classes at UBC Okanagan | 2014/ 2015 Academic Year

There are many new courses offered in Creative Writing at the 400 Level. Some upper level courses (both 300- and 400-level courses) require the submission of a portfolio. Please ensure you have the pre-requisites for the course you are applying for. If you are unsure about prerequisites, please contact the course advisors listed below. The deadline for consideration for summer registration is May 1, 2014 for ALL classes offered in the upcoming academic year.

Submitting a portfolio on time and registering early is your best chance to get a seat in the class you want. Classes are limited to 15 students. Portfolios will still be accepted after May 1st, but you will not necessarily be notified about your acceptance before September 1st. We will also keep a waiting list if the classes are full.

The portfolio should be the set number of pages required (see list of courses and page requirements below). It should consist of your best work in proper manuscript format. along with a cover letter with your student number and your summer contact information (address, phone, and e-mail). Please indicate in the cover letter which course or courses you are applying for. You may submit a single portfolio of fiction for CRWR 380, 382, and 471 (with proviso noted below). Please indicate in your cover letter that you are applying for BOTH/ALL courses with this portfolio. For students transferring to UBCO, this cover letter should indicate the transferable courses you will be using for prerequisites.

The courses, schedules and instructors listed below are subject to change. Schedules are VERY up-in-the-air.
