For prizes up to $600

Most local lottery retailers will cash winning tickets that are less than $600. Their ability to cash winning tickets is subject to fund availability and the individual retailer’s preference. You can also cash lower denomination winning lottery tickets (less than $600) at any of the Prize Claim Centers around the state. If you can’t make it to a Prize Claim Center, you can also mail your winning ticket along with a completed claim form and winner questionnaire to Illinois Lottery Claims Department in Springfield, Illinois. Prizes over $600 but less than $1 million

Fill out a claim form available at any Illinois Lottery retailer and mail it in.

You can mail your winning ticket to Springfield, IL. Please make a copy for your records first. The address is:

When you visit a prize center for any prize over $600, you’ll need a photo ID and your social security card or an official document containing your social security number. Acceptable documents include: a social security card or letter from the Social Security Administration; federal or state tax return; payroll statement; military ID card; health insurance card; unexpired ID card issued by a federal, state or local government agency; W-2G wage/tax statement, etc. Persons without a social security number (or with restricted work-status) can claim Lottery prizes at a slightly higher withholding rate.

For prizes over $25,000, these centers can mail your claim form to the Illinois Lottery Claims Department in Springfield, IL, for you.

Prizes of $1 million or more

Call the Illinois Lottery Claims Department at 217-524-5147 immediately! Then call your mom, your friends, and your entire address book.
