of teachers in Universities and Institutions affiliated into it) (second Amendment), Regulation. 2006 dated 14.06.2006,
the College Grants Commission hereby helps make the following Rules to amend the College Grants
Commission (Minimum Qualifications needed for that appointment and A Better Job of teachers in
Universities and Institutions affiliated into it) Regulation. 2000, namely :
Short Title, Application and Commencement :
1. These rules might be known as College Grants Commission (Minimum qualifications needed for that
appointment and A Better Job of teachers in Universities and Institutions affiliated into it)
2. They shall affect every College established or incorporated by or within Central Act, Provincial
Act or perhaps a Condition Act, every Institution together with a constituent or perhaps an affiliated college identified by the
Commission, in consultation using the College concerned under clause (f) of Section 2 from the College
Grants Commission Act 1956, and each Institution considered to become a College under section three of the

posted Ph.D. thesis within the concerned subject up to 31st December, 1993 are exempted from
appearing within the Internet examination.”
The stated Note to Regulation 1.3.3, 1.4.3, 1.5.3 and 1.6.1 was substituted through the following para, vide
College Grants Commission (Minimum Qualifications needed for that appointment and Career
Growth of teachers in Universities and Institutions affiliated into it) (first Amendment), Regulation
“Internet shall remain compulsory requirement of appointment as Lecturer for candidates
getting Ph.D. Degree. However, the candidates who’ve completed M.Phil. Degree by
31st December, 1993 and have posted Ph.D. thesis towards the College within the concerned subject
on or before 31st December, 2002 are exempted from appearing within the Internet examination. In situation
such candidates neglect to obtain Ph.D. Degree. they shall need to pass the Internet examination.”
Further, the above mentioned provision introduced directly into effect through the College Grants Commission (Minimum
Qualifications needed for that appointment and A Better Job of teachers in Universities and
Institutions affiliated into it) (first Amendment), Regulation 2002, was further substituted through the following
provision from the College Grants Commission (Minimum Qualifications needed for that appointment and
A Better Job of teachers in Universities and Institutions affiliated into it) (second Amendment),
“Internet shall remain compulsory requirement of appointment as Lecturer for individuals with Publish
Graduate Degree. However, the candidates getting Ph.D Degree within the concerned subject are
exempted from Internet for PG level and UG level teaching. The candidates getting M.Phil. Degree
within the concerned subject are exempted from Internet for UG level teaching only.”
